We are insulating our 2x6 walls with R20 batt insulation and the 2x8 walls with R28. We've also installed rigid insulation on the exterior of the house to prevent thermal bridging. This means that our average R-value in the house is R35 for the walls. The roof will be spray-foamed with a soy-based foam.

STEP 45: INSULATE
